East Pollokshields Quad
We're creating an inclusive community garden, in the heart of East Pollokshields, championing sustainability & celebrating diversity
About
At East Pollokshields Quad, our vision is to empower our local community.
Our community garden is located within the historical tenements of Kenmure Street, Nithsdale Road, Darnley Street and Leven Street in Pollokshields, Glasgow.
But we're more than just a garden — we're a collective of residents and enthusiasts who are dedicated to rejuvenating our neighbourhood.
Together, we engage in collective gardening, host educational workshops, and organise community events, all designed to cultivate knowledge, environmental care and a sense of community within the heart of Glasgow’s Southside.
As a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO), the East Pollokshields Quad is committed to community development, educational enrichment and recreational activities, all aimed at serving as a catalyst for urban regeneration in Glasgow.
Our Commitments
Community Development
We are dedicated to helping local residents identify and articulate their needs, empowering them to take action towards creating a self-sufficient community. This involves enhancing community benefits through partnerships and encouraging active citizenship.
Supporting Education
We collaborate with community organisations to provide educational programmes and workshops. These initiatives promote wellbeing and an appreciation of the natural environment, offering local residents valuable and diverse skills.
A Space for All
The East Pollokshields Quad is a diverse and inclusive communal space that improves access to outdoor spaces and reduces isolation. The Quad serves as a venue for community events, activities and festivals to build a sense of belonging and open for public enjoyment.
